No matter the size of the audit, risk assessment is the foundation to planning your audit procedures.  In order to properly design an audit plan you must first obtain an understanding of the clients environment and systems so you can identify and consider the risks.  This is not a one size fits all process and requires a significant amount of judgement by the auditor.  This breakout session will walk you through the risk assessment process step by step.  We will discuss how to assess inherent and control risk to design your audit procedures. The goal is to help you understand the process and gather tools to avoid pitfalls in your audit planning.
