A Message From Executive Director Bonnie Stewart

I hope this message finds you and yours well.

We've spoken to many members as things have unfolded, and we know you all have questions on state and federal developments. We're getting more answers for you every day, and will continue to work tirelessly to get you the information and resources you need.

We’re also making sure you can stay connected with your peers and the experts you need through many new virtual meetings, our committees and their online communities, and our new Coronavirus Conversations online community. All in-person CTCPA events for the next several months have been moved to virtual meetings, calls, or will be rescheduled. We are adding more virtual meetings, online courses, webinars, and on-demand programs every day.

At the same time, we have sharpened our focus on the future – to determine the best ways to move forward, to find the opportunities and the creative solutions that may emerge, and to bring the connections you need now more than ever.

We understand that we are in unprecedented circumstances. If you require additional time to renew your membership, please reach out to Liz Frazza at 860-258-0220 or to discuss available options. We appreciate your support and will work to find a solution that works for you.

Here are a few things you can look forward to when you continue your membership in the coming year:

  • Many of our committees have greatly stepped up their activities, including the Accounting, Auditing, & Financial Reporting Committee, Governmental Accounting & Auditing Committee, State Taxation Committee, and our new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiative. We will continue to grow our member groups across the board.
  • We’re providing support and resources to thrive through new technology, from entry-level programs on the basics of blockchain and AI to forming a pilot Emerging Technology (Blockchain, AI, Robotics in Finance) Group to connect members with this area of expertise and to bring their knowledge to the general membership.
  • We will continue to expand our robust opportunities to connect with key leaders and fellow professionals including legislators, regulators, standard setters, and other groups like bankers, attorneys, and other finance professionals.

As always, thank you for your support of the CPA profession in Connecticut. Please feel free to reach out anytime. We’re here for you with whatever you need.
