Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA)
The CTCPA is Connecticut's professional membership association exclusively for CPAs and select accounting professionals, serving almost 6,000 individuals in public practice, business and industry, government, and education. The CTCPA mission is to promote and support its members through advocacy, community, and education.
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
The AICPA is the world's largest member association representing the accounting profession, with more than 400,000 members in 145 countries, and a history of serving the public interest since 1887.
Connecticut State Board of Accountancy (SBOA)
The State Board of Accountancy is the state agency that has statutory authority to issue CPA licenses and certificates. Each SBOA sets the requirements for CPA licensure in its jurisdiction. The Connecticut State Board of Accountancy, which resides under the Department of Consumer Protection, issues Connecticut CPA licenses and certificates once all examination and work requirements have been met.
National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA)
The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy is the central clearinghouse for the Uniform CPA Examination, collecting information about eligible candidates, distributing advisory scores and other data, and maintaining a central database of candidate records. In addition, NASBA acts as the designated agent for a number of boards of accountancy, including Connecticut.
Prometric, Inc.
After you apply for the exam at NASBA and receive a Notice To Schedule (NTS), candidates are required to contact Prometric Inc. to schedule the examination. Prometric manages data communication, registration, scheduling, testing systems, software, and test centers.
