KPMG Donates New Books, Volunteers at Stamford Boys and Girls Club for Community Impact Day

August 06, 2024

On August 6, KPMG LLP celebrated its nationwide Community Impact Day. In Stamford, KPMG hosted a Book Explore event through KPMG Family for Literacy (KFFL), with the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford (Yerwood Center). KPMG employees guided elementary-aged students through an interactive book reading with printed boards of book pages and fun activities to bring book themes to life. Volunteers helped read the story with the students and handed out donated new books.

The mission of KFFL, a fund of the KPMG U.S. Foundation, is to eradicate childhood illiteracy by putting new books and educational resources into the hands of children in need and develop the next generation of young leaders through reading. Since KFFL began in 2008, more than seven million books have been donated to children in need across the country.

In 2022, KPMG celebrated its 125th anniversary with a day of service. This event was so successful that it became the firm's annual Community Impact Day. Building on 125 years of positive impact in the communities where its team members live and work, KPMG U.S. and the KPMG U.S. Foundation are committing more than $125 million over the next five years to support programs that will help underrepresented groups confront systemic barriers in education, health care, and economic opportunity.
