DRS Grants Two of CTCPA’s Three Requested Filing Extensions

Form CT-PET and Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI Extended to April 15, 2025

Thank you for your patience as we continue to advocate for you with the Department of Revenue Services (DRS).

We asked the DRS to extend three deadlines from March 15, 2025 to April 15, 2025.

Based on the DRS Commissioner’s authority to extend, due to statutory limitations, he was only able to extend two of the dates to April 15, 2025 as requested:

  • Form CT-PET, Connecticut Pass-Through Entity Tax Return
  • Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI, Connecticut Composite Income Tax Return

The DRS is unable to extend Form CT-PET EXT, Application for Extension of Time. This means that if anyone anticipates needing to file for extension, that form needs to be filed by March 15, 2025.

If an extension is not needed and Form CT-PET and Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI are able to be filed by the extended deadline of April 15, 2025, no application needs to be made; settlement is agreed upon if you have filed and paid by April 15 and no late fees or penalties will be assessed.

Again, if you anticipate a need for an extension, be sure to file Form CT-PET EXT by March 15, 2025.

While we certainly understand our members’ frustration with these delays, we do appreciate the DRS working with us to extend the deadline to the best of their authority.
